This historical tour takes you on an exploration of Margaret River wine at Vasse Felix, the Region's founding wine estate. Your experience begins with a glass of Blanc de Blancs sparkling on arrival before a walking tour of the Region's oldest vines, planted in 1967 by pioneer and Vasse Felix founder Dr Tom Cullity.

After your stroll through the old vines, you'll gain exclusive access to The Vault - home to the most historic museum wine collection in Margaret River - for this special tasting featuring two of Margaret River's leading varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Your host will guide you through current vintages of the Vasse Felix wine collection, sharing insights into Margaret River Cabernet and Chardonnay, including folklore surrounding the Region's first Cabernet (the 1972 Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon), advice about the cellaring and ageability of Cabernet and Chardonnay. Enjoy house-cured charcuterie as you soak in the cellar surrounds. Your cellar experience will conclude with a tasting of an historic Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon selected for your enjoyment by our Estate Sommelier.

Following the tasting, your experience continues upstairs in the award-winning Vasse Felix Restaurant, where you will enjoy the ultimate treat of a three course set menu showcasing local produce, paired with wines including a glass of back vintage Cabernet Sauvignon as enjoyed during your tasting.

You will be welcomed with a glass of Leeuwin Estate Brut on arrival. Learn about the history of Leeuwin Estate and our wine making philosophy while you enjoy seasonal canapés. You'll also learn about Leeuwin's contribution to the Arts with some insights into the Art Series labels and iconic concert history.

Following this introduction to our three core pillars of fine wine, food and art, it’s time to gain a deeper understanding of our wines, with a tutored wine tasting of five iconic Leeuwin Estate Art Series wines. Learn about the delicate interplay between perfectly
matched wine and food flavours by sampling carefully prepared appetizers created from our seasonal menu.

After a short break to enjoy the beautiful surrounds and build up an appetite, your host will introduce you to your chef for a private cooking demonstration. Learn about our culinary philosophy and culture in an informative and intimate way as you enjoy tasting four seasonal dishes prepared using local ingredients and matched to four Leeuwin Estate wines.

Following dessert and coffee, we’ll present you with a special memento in the form of a recipe book of all the dishes sampled. So you’ll be able to take home not just memories of an exceptional day, but have the chance to create some of your own.
